Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Chesswarm ("we," "us," the "app," the "Service") is a real-time chess game available at chesswarm.com and as an Android app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Summary

You can play Chesswarm entirely as a guest with no account and no personal data collected. Creating an account (via Google or Discord) unlocks Ranked play, a public profile, and stats, and involves storing a small amount of information described below.

Information We Collect

If you play as a guest: We store no personal information about you. Individual completed games are logged anonymously (which mode was played, who won by color, how the game ended, and how long it lasted) with no identifying information attached, so we can understand how the game is used and balanced.

If you sign in (Google or Discord): We receive and store:

This information is used to operate your account, show your public profile and match history to other players, and maintain the leaderboard.

Public profiles: If you sign in, your display name, avatar, and match history are visible to anyone at a public profile page. You can change your display name at any time from your profile.

Feedback: If you submit feedback or a bug report, we store the message, the category you selected, which page you were on, and, if you're signed in, your account ID, so we can follow up if needed.

What we do not collect: We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics SDKs, or sell your information to anyone.

How We Use Information

Third Parties

We use the following services to operate Chesswarm; each processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy practices:

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep account and match data for as long as your account exists.

To delete your account, sign in and open your profile page (click your name in the top-right corner), then use Request account deletion under "Your account". You can also request deletion by contacting us at aml.labs.support@gmail.com. We'll process deletion requests within a reasonable time.

When an account is deleted, we permanently erase your email address, display name, profile picture and sign-in credentials, and you will no longer be able to sign in. Games you already played remain on your opponents' match histories, where you appear as "Deleted user" - this keeps their own records and ratings intact and cannot be traced back to you.

Children's Privacy

Chesswarm is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Account sign-in requires a Google or Discord account, which have their own age requirements.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including restricting database access so that only our server can write match results and ratings, and enforcing access controls on all personal data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

The Android App

The Chesswarm Android app displays the same website inside a native app shell. It requests only internet access; it does not request camera, contacts, location, or other device permissions, and does not collect any information beyond what's described above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
